Of course the first grade were the best performers and there is no bias there..... They sang a Santa song and Silent Night with sign language. It was awesome.

Annika's Christmas Concert
Merry Christmas
Wow, it has been a while since I updated, so here are some pics.
Kids had a great day, lots of fun to keep their minds off of sad things. I think we played about 5 board games at least 2 times each and played with cars and super heroes all day. Much fun was had.
Trevor spent alot of time riding the bike through the house while still managing to hang on to the Spiderman action figure. He hasnt put it down all day - Why do I spend money on anything else? One $4 Action Figure was all that was needed for my entire Christmas Shopping List.
Annika spent most of her day with the board games, Barbies and an assortment of Little Pets. Her room is trashed with everything opened and spread out, and yes, she is playing with all of it at once, so no, putting away what she isnt playing with, probably wont happen for at least 2 days.
All clothing packages got the "Oh, great....clothes, thanks." Neither one attempted to be happy about those items, but at least managed a feeble attempt at a believeable "Thank You" .
Merry Christmas to everyone. Peace and Joy in the New Year.

Happy Halloween

Here are the little trick or treaters. They made out well, no pennies or apples or McDonald's gift certificates. Annika was really motivated and wanted to go to some other neighborhoods. Maybe next year. They were happy with their loot. Spent some time dividing up the candy. They were generous enough to give Mom some.
Look who is 6

Annika had her 6th birthday with a few friends for a sleepover. Movies, twister, presents, cake (Trevor blew out the candles the first go round so we had a do over). Kids had fun. Annika was home sick on her actual birthday. No, dont say too bad. She got out of school for the day and got to watch movies and play with her new toys.

Princess Sophie

So we have a new addition to our family. Annika decided she was ready for a new kitty and we began the search. We had plans to drive to Tucson for a few we saw after getting the brush off from some rescues for daring to ask if they had any declawed cats. As luck would have it, we saw a sweet kitty online today and went over to the rescue to have a look. Annika spotted her in the kennel from the pictures and ran right over. Like I was going to have a choice at that point. So Sophie came home with us. 2 curious dogs and one semi- angry cat havent kept her from exploring and finding some nice places to sleep (Rick's dresser). Trevor has yelled at her a few times, but seems to like her very much. Anyway, I have one very happy little 6 year old and one new very chubby little kitty.

Friendly Neighborhood Trevor-Man

Ok, we all know that Trevor is not Spiderman, but he is not convinced. He wore this outfit for 2 days in a row until I got it off of him during a nap and washed it. He found it again as you can see, and has added a pair of boots. He calls them his Spiderman boots and he runs around kicking and rolling on the floor. They are really a pair of Annika's chunky heeled sparkly boots and are about 4 sizes too big. But it is entertaining enough for us. I am wondering if the costume will make it to Halloween at the rate he is going. In fact, he saw the pictures and came running to have me help him put it on.

Notice Something Different

Annika make look like your ordinary average almost 6 year old. That of course is what she wants to clear up. If you look at the picture, you will see a new sparkley addition to her ears. Yes, that is right, she was very brave and decided to take advantage of an early birthday present. She did have to clean her room, which is meticulous (we will see if that last more than a day). She got nervous and the lady who did her ears said that if it hurt, Annika could kick her. Well it did hurt and she took the sales lady up on her offer. All was good once she saw the earrings. She is playing up the sore ear drama if I ask her to do something - "Oh, my ears hurt too bad to put on my jammies. I may bump them." Things like that. I am not falling for it. Trevor put up with all of the waiting and gave sister a nice big hug.

And yes, earrings have been added to the birthday list....

Friday, August 25, 2006

Welcome. Kids are doing well. Trevor has learned to wash his own hands and here he is very happily washing his hands. Notice he is trying to pump the soap out. Now that he knows he can get in there he tries to all of the time.
Annika had her first day of school and is already sounding like a teenager with how bored she is. Here she is at her desk.

Trevor came along to see what all of the fuss was about with this first day of school business. He is busy staring at lady who decided she needed to scream at her kids in the middle of the classroom. Annika and Trevor were pretty puzzled.
So that is all for now. I am going to try to make a point of using this to keep everyone a bit more updated with photos and captions of what the heck the kids are actually doing in the photos.
