Newest Addition to Webster's

I like new words that describe things in ways that other existing words can't. Last year, I was very happy that ginormous made it into the dictionary as a new word. Generally, I correct the kids when they use bad grammar or the wrong word in a sentence, but sometimes I hear a few that I like. Annika is very creative in her use of vocabulary and on occasion, she comes up with some Annika-isms:

Crookedy:
Pronunciation:\ˈkr-kə-\
Function: adjective
Def: not straight
Used by Annika: "I couldn't zip by jacket because the zipper was all crookedy."

Freezy:
Pronunciation:\ˈfrēz-ē\
Function:adjective
Def: to be chilly
Used by Annika: "I
t is cold in here, and I am really freezy"

I hope you enjoy these new words and feel free to use them. If you have heard her use others, please post and let me know. I would love a few more to submit to Merriam Webster.

Annika's Small Screen Debut

Annika was part of a marketing promo that was done for my employer. It is a takeoff on "The Office". For those of you who watch, Annika plays Pam. They cut alot of it - form 20 minutes down to 5 so a lot of what all of the kids did was cut. Her lines are at the end and she is fantastic. Enjoy.

Don't Water the Grass

Trevor spends his days while I am at work at the wonderful house of Nana. I went to pick him and Annika up yesterday (she is off from school) and heard a funny story. Apparently Trevor was a little embarrassed. I picked him up and he buried his face in my neck as I heard the story. This is unusual since Trevor is almost never embarrassed by his or other people's behavior (you have to love 3 year olds) After lunch, the went out to play and Trevor asked Nana if he could go on the grass. She said of course you can and went in the house to get one of the little ones. Suddenly heard all of the older kids yelling and screaming Trevor's name. Holy Crap!!! What could have happened in 2 minutes??? She ran out to see Trevor standing there, pants dropped, peeing in the grass. "Trevor, we dont pee in the grass - go inside!!" to which Trevor replied - "Well I am all done now!!" Apparently, Trevor needs to be more specific about "going" in the grass...

New Years when you are 3

Trevor had Ian and Connor as guests for his super great New Year's Eve bash. Ok, super great if you are 3, boring if you are 7 and very entertaining if you are a grown up. The evening started with a movie - Underdog and chinese food. There was too much excitement, so not a lot of food was eaten. After the movie we played Hullaballoo. It is a dvd game where you jump to different animals and shapes and the winner is on the right animal.
Trevor loves this game as long as he is winning. He usually will change where he is standing in order to be the winner. I decided he could not do this. Here you see he is not winning.
Not two minutes later he was on the right animal and as you can see, he was the winner.
Ian is a good sport, he just likes to play and was not happy after playing for an hour. He needed to play more. He almost cried he was so sad, but we had snacks and that made it better.
Annika likes Hullaballoo and has a talent for landing on the right animal almost everytime. It infuriates Trevor. We got so busy we almost missed the ball drop - 5 seconds. They went to bed about 20 minutes after 10 - we watched the ball go down in NY. Thank goodness for the different timezone.

Happy New Year everyone. May this one be better than the last and not rush by us too fast.
