Annika had her Holiday Program last week (yes, I realize I have become a terrible blogger). Annika and her class did a dance and sang "I want a Hippopotomus for Christmas" - which is my very favorite Christmas song. The entire school also attempted to do Silent Night. Each class was supposed to sing in a different language. Annika's class got Swahili We have no idea how that was an option compared to the rest of the language list - French, Spanish, German, Japanese and of course, Swahili. It was very difficult to really know what anyone was singing. We were pretty sure most of the classes forgot the words in any language entirely. So it sounded more like muttering in foreign tongues, but some of the time we managed to pick up a word or two that we could understand.

During the program to our suprise, Annika got the outstanding Art Student award for her class. She did this beautiful shadow frame which is in the picture. It is the bright blue piece. We will get it framed as soon as we get it back from school. It really is beautiful.

Trevor managed to sit very calmly and watch the entire show with minimal complaining or trips to the bathroom. He was a very good audience member.

Annika once again looks beautiful for her Christmas Concert. She knew her part in Swahili as she sang it to me over the phone.
Her Art Picture shows her abilities far reaching an 8 year old. I can't wait to see it for real.
Trevor is becoming quite the little gentleman. A handsome pair in their pictures.
Wow, Annika! I am so proud of your art award and I know how deserving you are with all of your artistic talents. Also, you look sooo grown up in these photos-I love the pictures.
I really, really wish I could have seen the holiday show. Next year, you will HAVE to call me so I can tag along. :)
That bottom photo is a great Christmas card photo too! One of my favorites of both of them!
Annika, you win ALL the awards! You are so talented!!! That picture is truly beautiful. You're going to have to show me how you did that the next time I see you. Really amazing. You look so beautiful as well!
And is that the cutest picture of Trevor ever??? I love those big sweet eyes!
I am a very proud Auntie!
Oh dear! Cyberspace at my comment that I posted back when this first went up. I love seeing the relationship between Ani and Trevor. They are both so gorgeous and both growing up so fast.
That Christmas concert sounds interesting. I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas sounds like a fun song and learning Silent Night in Swahili should be very interesting. Cool idea to sing in many languages.
Ani - your art work is incredible! I'm so impressed. You have a real gift.
I Love You All,
Aunt Kathie (aka Great Aunt Kathie)
