Bendaroos Suck

The kids have been asking for Bendaroos since before last Christmas. We were inundated with commercials and they just needed them. I was no way going to spend $30 plus shipping and handling (another $10) to get these. I know, I am a terrible mother. All year, kids see a commercial - "Mom, we really want those, really, really, really". I kept my eyes open for them at the store - No dice. Finally, Toys R Us has them. I buy a small package, only because I have a coupon and need to buy one more thing to be able to use it. I was so much the hero on Saturday night when I presented the package of these so hotly desired playthings. They open them up and start to bend them around and follow directions. Trevor immediately asks for help (not a good sign). Annika starts to get frustrated because they do not stick as the commerical showed. "I thought commercials were not allowed to lie anymore." Big fit of laughter on my part. "That is why we dont watch infomercials." So they lasted about 30 minutes before Trevor started wrapping his action figures up in them, only to get mad because thy just fell off.
Into a baggie they go. Next day, Annika and Trevor make one more feeble attempt at making something cool with them. Today, I have a bag of mashed up waxy string that of course, is not sticking together.... They have officially been removed from the xmas list.

It's good to have a trial run. Now I know what Not to buy. You get A+ in the Good Mommy category.

Love you all,
Mom

HAHA! This is hilarious. Although sad too. But they may as well learn now that life is full of disappointment! May all their disappointments be as easy to handle as this one.

Nice one about the commercials. That made me laugh.

I hate commercials that lie... especially to kids. Does make a good story for the blog, though. Not a total loss.

I Love You,

I just ordered them for Annika for Christmas too! Glad I checked the webpage and saw this. I'll have to send them back so it's back to the drawing board for what to get her. :O( Sorry they didn't work out for the kids. Nothing like feeling like a hero to have them be so disappointed.

Okay, I actually was laughing out loud when I saw the photo of how they turned out. The entire story is priceless. Or maybe it isn't, considering the cost of the product.

You are a hero to all of us moms who will avoid them like the plague! You saved us $30 plus dollars!
